Cynthia O’Donnell and her husband Rusty are West Texas natives, they have been married since 1979 and have two children and seven grandchildren.

She went to work for Martin County in 2001 as Deputy Treasurer for H.D. Howard and upon his retirement in 2010, she ran for office and began her first term as County Treasurer in January 2011.
